Congratulations on your prom! I hope it's great.

If I have a special occasion coming up, in the week before the event I focus on drinking 2 quarts of water a day, taking a multivitamin, eating fruit, and avoiding any products with white flour in them like noodles, tortillas or bread, and also white rice, because they makes me puffy, and I get LOTS of sleep (9 hours if possible) because it helps me look fresh and sparkly-eyed for the event, and I do light exercise to tone my muscles every day - even a brisk walk. I moisturize my face and neck every night and in the mornings I wash my face GENTLY and rub it with witch hazel and then spritz it with rose water. I avoid alcohol, sodas and caffeine because they dry out my skin and I drink lots of juices (just juice, no high-fructose corn syrup) for the vitamins and antioxidants.

If I have a clingy dress or one that shows off my figure, even though I have a nice figure I will be likely to wear some sort of body shaper to help keep everything trim and in place. Even movie stars wear body shapers to the oscars! If you didn't do this when you bought your prom dress, choose what undergarments you think you will be wearing and try them on under your dress to make sure they fit - if not, you may want to buy a bra that will do.

Not as exciting as which eye makeup to wear, I guess, but these steps I find are most inportant in helping me to look my best before a lick of makeup ever goes on my face. You are actually paying attention to the heath and beauty of your body from the inside out.

If you want to do an updo make your hair appointment well in advance and ask them for someone who specializes in updos so you can really knock 'em dead.

Last beauty tip - no amount of makeup or hair styling will make half the impact that a DAZZLING SMILE will, so enjoy yourself!!!

Since you have the dress (yay!) you are now able to work out the rest of your look, since it all is framed around the dress. Experiment with hairstyles so that you find one that you're confident about wearing on prom night. Find an excellent hairdresser and have him/her work with you on styles. Jewelry is also key. Find earrings that compliment your dress and your face %26amp; hairstyle. If you're wearing your hair up, long dangling earrings would look romantic and classy. A nice necklace would add sparkle to the outfit. Don't overdo on bracelets. You could wear one or two just to accessorize the look. Shoes should match your dress or compliment it. Don't wear anything on your feet that you can't dance all night in. There are lots of sparkling, rhinestone shoes that are all the rage right now. Find a friend or a professional who knows how to apply makeup and make plans to have the stylist come to your house on prom night. Experiment beforehand with colors so that you know what looks good on you and will look good in pictures. The morning of the prom go for a massage, facial and get your nails done. You'll look fabulous!

Prom Makeup - - Top 5 Beauty Tips for Prom

1. smokey eyes: remember to keep your cheek color natural and use a very light lipstick.

2. sweet and sexy look: keep cheeks dewy with a pink blush and plump up lips with a colored gloss.

3. Red lipstick is a great look, just make sure to pick the perfect shade and go light on your eyes

4. Dark-rimmed eyes. Again, a light gloss on the lips.

Prom Makeup Tip #2: Pick your eyes OR your mouth

The biggest mistake people make when putting on makeup is that they highlight both the eye and the mouth. You need to pick one or the other and downplay what you rejected.

Prom Makeup Tip #3: Don't use foundation on your entire face.

While we're firm believers that few women under age 25 need foundation, if you have acne or an uneven skin tone, you'll want to cover it up with concealer and foundation. To avoid the pancake batter look, only apply foundation on the areas of skin that are discolored or have blemishes (usually the forehead, cheeks and chin). Make sure to choose a foundation that perfectly matches your skin and blend, blend, blend along the jawline.

Prom Makeup Tip #4: Three things to remember when taking pictures

You'll have those prom pictures for years, so don't forget these three things:

1. Apply liner and lipstick WITH A MIRROR before you pose.

2. Powder your oily areas (forehead, chin and nose) immediately before the picture. Or better yet, keep blotting papers in your purse.

3. Stand so you look ten pounds thinner. Here's the red carpet trick celebrities swear by: Stand sideways with one foot in front of the other putting all your weight on your back leg. Pull shoulders back and hold arms away from your body.

Prom Makeup Tip #5: What to bring in your purse

Every purse needs blotting papers (better than applying powder all night, which can leave you looking like a mime), lipstick or gloss, powder (just in case), breath mints and a small bottle of hairspray.

Your Smile :) Always be yourself and dont forget to smile . Of course you want to get your hair done and your nails but if you cant dont worry, remember simple is elegant . Dont overdue it, maybe a simple drop crystal necklace and earings . But the main thing is to Smile and have fun . Dont be like some of these girls out there that think their all that and a bag of chips, and go overboard on their makeup and accessories and make themselves look cheap . Be yourself and enjoy your evening ...
