1:

get a dress. choose a 'different' colour such as green or purple, cause you'll want to standout. don't be afraid to hit up sale racks, it's just a party, not prom. try going for a halter style, thn you don't have to worry about slippage but can still show some skin.

2:

depending on the bag you already have, you shouldn't need anything new. you'll want to either bring your regular purse or a small clutch with nothing valuble and only necessities. regardless, yo'll want to leave out valubles cause dancing with a purse is just plain inconvenient.

3:

choose shoes that match your bag. wear flat or heels depending on what you are comfortable to dance in. make sure you clean them up a little, especially if you wear them day-to-day. if you want to make it a little more casual, wear black nylons beneath your dress if they go with the colour of you dress and your shoes/bag. if the colours don't flow, go without.

4:

straighten your hair, and make sure you use some kind of product to make sure it lasts through a little heat. if you can put your bangs back nicely,go for just in case you get a little sweaty.

5:

use 2 colours of eyeshadow, light beige to match your skin tone, and little darker brown. have them both be a little shimmery. use the light one above the crease to the browbone and sweep it out a little. use thedarker one on just the lid. then (if you're comfortable with liner) use it on the outside half of your lid, and sweep it out for a very slight wing. then use dark brown mascara, and curl once dry.

6.

brush a little bronzer onto your clavicles and shoulders. it's winter, you don't want to be too pale!

7.

brush your teeth and reapply deodorant before you head out. bring mints. if it cold, make sure you have a cardigan that goes with your dress, and a light jacket for being outside.

Make-up:

Outfit 1:

Apply light colored pink or cream/white eyeshadow. Not to much though. Use clear or light pinkish lipgloss. Use black mascara.

Outfit 2:

If you could find a silver eyeliner (I recommend http://shop.avon.com/shop/product.asp?pf... in Steel) apply and smudge to both lower and upper eyelid. Then use a black mascara to top it off. Use either clear or bright pink lip gloss.

Hair:

Straighten your hair and pull out about 5 tiny strands around your head and curl them. Or just straighten it. Be sure to part your hair to the side instead of straight down the middle. It always looks better to the side.

edit..

Target, i kno it sounds crazy, but they have a bunch of dresses there that are semi formal, not too fancy, but formal and sort of fun. They also have a lot of accessories, so after you buy the dress, look in by the accessories. Do you have a straightener? Use it. Target, again as a huge shoe department with lots of shoes that will fit you. I am 5'3 and I wear a size 5 and they had comfortable heels for me, so go there. I wouldn't wear a super bright colored dress, but sort of fun, don't put on too much make up, gets annoying if you wear it for a really long time, but if you do wear make up, wear cover girl. Hope i could help!!

it's hard to say if no one knows what kind of styles you're into (halter, sweetheart neckline, sleeves, tube, spaghetti strap?) it would also help to know if you like patterned or plain. But I'll try to help anyway. $50 isn't much to work with...but it can be done.

have you heard of wetseal?

I picked out:

(1) a short sleeve wrap-style red dress

***great with black, brown (or if your adventuruous deep purple heels or wedges). A plum or purple eye liner and pale gold shadow, lots of mascara and a clear lip gloss.

(2) a deep purple, almost maroon-ish party dress with a sequince trim around the waistline (I LOVE this one!)

*** great with brown heels, maybe even wedges (you seem high-heel handicapped hahaha. okay sorry, but anyway wedges are always easier to walk in and much more comfortable than heels) a neutral eye shadow and chocolate brown eyeliner and mascara.

(3) a ruched sleeve dress with a band at the botton and a black/turquoise pattern!!

***great with patent leather heels and a black-stoned bracelet or bangle. Gold eyeshadow, and tiny line of black eyeliner. Lots of mascara and lipgloss with a hint of pink ..like a coral. Or clear.

hope I helped you atleast get some ideas and styles =)
