Fashion clues for a clueless person?

I love the 1940閳ユ獨but when it comes down to it閳?I have no idea what the fashion was like, I get it mixed up with the 1950閳ユ獨-60閳ユ獨.

Does anyone know what the style was like? (hair, dresses, ect.) What were the accessories? (long gloves, sunglasses, shoes, ect) Who were the icons back then? What websites could help me? Please help閳?I have a party to attend next weekend and I wanna go with the theme.

All help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi,

I am a fashion design major and I provided some links to help you out. :) The main influences on fashion in the 1940's was WWII and hollywood glamour.

Baiscally in the 1940's they wore more frilly things with bigger bows and more lace. They didnt wear short skirts and really exposed shoulder or neck things. But, you can add a modern touch if you want!

Good Luck!
